Frequently Asked Question

Stage Fi vision is to innovate outmodeled systems by inventing entirely new ones, in order to introduce the structural integrity of traditional finance to DeFi, specifically the Polygon ecosystem. Stage Fi has set out to create a suitably rewarding foundation for the next generation of Polygon applications.

Stage Fi will operate as an accelerator of the Polygon ecosystem by investing in early-stage and beyond projects. In addition to ushering promising projects, Stage Fi will contribute to Polygon protocols by using capital to promote liquidity and protect networks by running nodes. In addition to these functionalities, Stage Fi will maintain an Index dedicated to projects built on Polygon.

Vesting is the process of locking and releasing tokens gradually, after a predetermined period runs out or some conditions are met. The smart contract often guarantees all these conditions, but sometimes companies reserve the right to distribute tokens manually.

The vesting schedule is the order of releasing tokens that have been set aside (locked) for a specified period. Tokens that have been set aside for this purpose are locked for some time by smart contracts, which effectively seal off access to the tokens until pre-set conditions are met.

Staking is the process of locking cryptocurrency assets on a network for a reward, annualized financial returns, which are paid out regularly.

Airdrop is a token distribution method in which assets are directly transmitted to user wallets for free. Typically airdrops are used to create awareness around a project or as part of a fundraising mechanism.

Token Generation Event is the technical act of generating tokens in a blockchain-based network and their release to the market.

Total Value Locked is a common metric used to represent the total amount of funds locked in the smart contract of a decentralized project. In other words, TVL is the amount of funds deposited by liquidity providers to the protocol.
